Mastopexia – Breast Lift

The breast is a reference point of a woman’s femininity. However, over time, as a result of gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss, a woman’s breasts can change shape, become droopy, and lose its firmness. The solution to this problem is breast lift surgery.

What is a breast lift?

This is an procedure that aims to create a beautiful, youthful and firm breast, improving the shape, position and projection of the breast. This is achieved by removing excess skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and positioning the nipple-areola complex in the correct position.

How long will the procedure take?

The procedure lasts 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the problem.

What anesthesia is needed?

Surgery is done under general anesthesia and the patient leaves the hospital the next morning.

How long does recovery take?

After surgery there is minimal pain and slight swelling in the area. The patient can take care of herself from day one. After the procedure, the patient is advised to wear an elastic bra for one month.

Are there incisions?

With modern techniques, large and misshapen scars in the shape of an upside-down “T” or “anchor” are now avoided. Usually, the incisions are limited to one incision around the nipple and one perpendicular below it. The scars are permanent and visible immediately after the procedure but over time they improve a lot.
